Job summary

Silverlake The Family Place in Kentucky is seeking an energetic After School Program Coordinator to lead the daily operations of the program. You will supervise children and staff, plan activities, and coordinate transportation while maintaining safety and licensing compliance.

The role is hands-on, requiring active engagement with participants and staff, strong communication with families, and strict adherence to program policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with school-age children required.
• Experience in childcare or afterschool programming preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively lead and supervise both children and staff.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills with parents.
• Ability to handle behavioral concerns calmly and professionally.
• Must meet all applicable state licensing and background-check requirements.
• CPR, First Aid, and related certifications must be maintained as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of the After School Program.
• Provide active supervision of children and maintain a safe, structured, welcoming environment.
• Supervise, train, coach, and direct After School Program staff.
• Ensure staff-to-child ratios and proper supervision at all times.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Plan and coordinate daily activities and use of Silverlake amenities.
• Develop weekly and seasonal activity plans for variety throughout the school year.
• Coordinate school pickups and transportation procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance and check-in/check-out procedures.
• Ensure authorized pickups and professional communication with parents.
• Maintain participant records and required program documentation.
• Monitor program areas for safety, cleanliness, and proper setup.
• Assist with ordering and managing program supplies within budget.
