Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA is seeking an After School Program Assistant to support students and staff in a school setting on a temporary, hourly basis.

The role involves supervising students, assisting with activities, and ensuring safety and orderly conduct. The position pays $15 per hour, Type: hourly, under the supervision of the After School Program Coordinator. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students.
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes.
• Assists in maintaining proper records and distribution of snacks.
• Actively supervises students during daily activities.
• Maintains expectations for students’ behavior and safety and informs Assistant Coordinator of difficulties requiring disciplinary action.
• Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions.
• Maintains a good attendance record and notifies when absent.
• Follows procedures for emergencies and safety.
• Ensures adherence to safety procedures and school policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Duties

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes
• Assists in maintaining proper records ? Assists in the distribution of snacks
• Actively supervises students during daily activities
• Maintains expectations for students’ behavior and safety and informs Assistant Coordinator of difficulties requiring disciplinary action
• Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions
• Maintains a good attendance record and makes Assistant Coordinator aware when needing to be absent
• Follows appropriate procedures for emergencies such as student or staff health concerns, severe weather, suspected fire or facility issues
• Ensures adherence to good safety procedures
• Follows federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies
• Performs other duties as assigned
