Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks an After-School Program Teacher at the Prairie View Campus to support elementary and middle school students with homework, enrichment, and fun after school.

The role follows a provided lesson plan and assigns a specific grade-level class to conduct activities including reading, athletics, logic games, art, and music. This is a part-time, hourly position on-site at the Ft Worth campus.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and strong communication skills.
• Ability to lead and teach children in a classroom setting.
• Preference for education/liberal arts background if possible.

Responsibilities

• Follow a daily activity schedule and implement the provided lesson plan.
• Lead an assigned grade-level class during after-school sessions.
• Facilitate activities across reading, athletics, arts, music, and logic games.

Position Description

Part-time afternoon position supporting elementary and middle school students in homework, enrichment, and fun. Teachers will be assigned to a specific grade-level class and conduct a daily activity following a provided lesson plan. Lessons and activities include reading, athletics, logic games, art, music, etc.

Qualifications

• Some college (preferably with education or liberal arts major), experience with children, excellent communication skills, and ability to lead and teach children.

Requirements

• Must complete Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by their start date.
• US Work Authorization is required.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Physical Functions

• Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.

Travel Required

May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
