YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a part-time Teacher I, School-Age, to create engaging learning experiences for children before and after school. You will implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, foster relationships with children and families, and maintain a classroom that supports learning, creativity, and belonging.

The role emphasizes collaboration, flexibility, and ongoing professional development within a licensed school-age program in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Twelve semester units in Child Development or related coursework meeting licensing requirements.
• At least six months of experience working with children in a group setting.
• Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse families.
• Current EMSA First Aid and CPR certifications or ability to obtain.
• Completion of health screenings, immunizations, and background clearances.

• Create a safe, engaging, inclusive classroom where children feel supported and inspired to learn.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
