YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a part-time, year-round School-Age Teacher I at the Kolar Family YMCA in Downey, CA. The role supports licensed School-Age programs, with shifts before and after school and a typical schedule averaging 18 to 21 hours per week.
You’ll implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, build strong relationships with children and families, and help foster a safe, inclusive learning environment in alignment with licensing requirements.

As a Teacher I, School-Age, you'll create engaging learning experiences that help children continue growing before and after the school day. You'll implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, foster meaningful relationships with children and families, and create a classroom environment where learning, creativity, and belonging go hand in hand. Working as part of a licensed School-Age program, you'll help children build academic, social, and emotional skills while making every day a positive and memorable experience. This is a part-time, year-round position supporting licensed School-Age programs.
This is a part-time, year-round position averaging 18 to 21 hours per week. Teachers typically work Monday through Friday, with before school shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and after school shifts between 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Paid training and professional development are provided throughout the year, including occasional non-school days. Additional opportunities to work may be available during school intersessions, summer day camp, and other YMCA youth programs.
