Job summary

YMCA in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an After School Counselor to supervise a group of children, plan engaging activities, and promote YMCA values after school. The role requires driving for pick-up and adhering to safety standards in a part-time schedule.

Hours are 1:40pm-6:00pm; two days per week or more as needed. CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention training are required within 90 days of hire, with a valid NC driver’s license and 21+ age preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
• Valid NC driver’s license.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training within 90 days of hire date.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
• At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of children in after-school activities.
• Plan and implement culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Adhere to safety, cleanliness, and program standards.
• Maintain vehicles with fueling, cleaning and upkeep.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; follow YMCA policies.
• Build positive relations with parents and staff; model relationship building.
