Job summary

Cherry Creek is seeking an assistant for its school-based child care program to supervise students under a qualified leader. You will help create a safe, engaging environment and promote positive relations with families and school staff.

Requirements include minimum age 16, ability to obtain First Aid/CPR within 30 days, and good communication. Training hours are required yearly; willingness to follow policies and contribute to program quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years
• Assistants work under supervision of director/leader
• Annual training: at least 15 clock hours
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Current First Aid and CPR or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Ability to work with school-age children
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire

Responsibilities

• Completes tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader
• Follows ECS Procedures Manual
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff
• Enforces program discipline policies and procedures
• Assists with maintenance, storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality
• Communicates effectively with parents, students, school staff and coworkers
• Follows district policies and uses facilities with care
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
