Job summary

Cherry Creek is seeking an After School Assistant to supervise students in the school-based child care program under the guidance of a qualified leader. The role focuses on safety, engagement, and positive interaction with students, parents, and school staff.

Under supervision, you will support enrichment activities, implement discipline policies, and help maintain program quality. Training hours are required annually, and certifications may be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• The assistant must be at least 16 years of age.
• Assistants must work directly under the supervision of the director, assistant director or leader
• Each year of employment, the assistant must complete at least 15 clock hours of training
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days
• The assistant must demonstrate an ability to work with school age children
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire

Responsibilities

• Completes all tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader.
• Follow procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, school staff and co workers.
• Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
