Job summary

Cherry Creek is seeking an assistant for a school-based child care program to actively supervise students under the guidance of a qualified leader. The role emphasizes safety, engagement, and positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.

You will support a team by following procedures, contributing ideas for enrichment activities and curriculum, and demonstrating clear communication with parents, students, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Work under supervision of the director, assistant director or leader.
• Complete at least 15 clock hours of training each year.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to work with school-age children.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Completes tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader.
• Follow procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, school staff and coworkers.
• Follows district policies and uses district facilities with care.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
