QUALIFICATIONS

REPORTS TO: Building Administrator

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for helping students develop and strengthen academic, physical and social skills by providing assistance and tutoring to students in the after-school program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in planning and implementation of academic, enrichment, health, and recreational extra-curricular learning experiences for students.
  • Assists tutoring of students in academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, and other areas.
  • Provides one-on-one and small group instruction, utilizing a variety of teaching techniques
  • Works effectively with students in after school activities and assist with behavior management, discipline, interpersonal actions, and act as a role model.
  • Promotes good habits for the purpose of improving the quality of students outcome and encouraging student development
  • Follows all district and school policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Conducts duties in an office/school/work environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands are restricted to office work requiring lifting/moving of items up to 25 pounds. Job requires the operation of standard office equipment.
