Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers seeks a Site Coordinator for its after-school program in South Gate, CA. This part-time, non-exempt role supports day-to-day operations, ensures a safe, engaging environment, and coordinates staff and activities from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

The Site Coordinator reports to the Program Manager, supervises a small team, manages attendance and field trips, and works on-site including training at the main office.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience supervising a group of children in a school or recreational setting.
• 1+ years’ experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in a school or recreational setting.
• Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience supporting students with intellectual/development disabilities
• Understanding of inclusive practices and various disabilities
• First Aid & CPR certification (can be provided by Woodcraft Rangers)
• CPI Certification (can be provided by Woodcraft Rangers)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn new technologies and systems
• Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling

Responsibilities

• Ensure students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally).
• Leads and coaches the on-site team to perform their duties and deliver high-quality programs and provides positive customer service.
• Effectively implements site protocols, safety regulations, WR procedures and policies and provides any necessary training or coaching to on-site teams.
• Communicates with facilities management to ensure access to required facilities during program hours.
• Collects and reviews activity plans and program material list from Club Leaders to develop spending plan within a given budget.
• Proactively coordinates with the purchasing team to ensure all staff have access to required materials in a timely manner.
• Coordinates end of week themes activities, program mingle, and end of summer culmination.
• Coordinates field trips with field trip coordinator, communicates with parents/guardians and trip details and requirements. Attend a field trip and serve as the lead WR Team Member for the day.
• Maintain and submit student attendance daily.
• Ensure activities meet the needs and abilities of participants’ age and skill level.
• Oversees staff schedules, ADP including approving timesheets and sick time, and coordinates sub/floater fill in as needed.
• Participates in staff development trainings as required/as scheduled.
• Other related duties as assigned.
