Job summary

Alfond Youth & Community Center in Oakland, ME seeks an enthusiastic After School Program Counselor to supervise and mentor children in after‑school activities. You will help create a safe, engaging environment where youth can learn, grow, and build positive relationships.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of children in after‑school activities and help them adjust and grow within program guidelines.
• Participate in all areas of the After‑School Program.
• Manage a group of thirteen (13) children and guide their growth with peers.
• Plan and implement daily curriculum for children to follow.
• Observe behavior, enforce safety regulations, and apply behavior management techniques.
• Guide children with behavior, attitude, or emotional issues and refer serious cases to the Childcare Director.
• Assist with all After‑School Program activities and related tasks.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and discipline of children, area and equipment.
