Job summary

Salt Lake City School District Salt Lake Center for Science Education in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking an After School Group Leader (PT) to supervise and mentor students in after-school programs. The role is 0.2 FTE (up to 8 hours per week) with typical hours 3:30-4:30 pm Mon-Thu and 1:00-2:00 pm on Fridays, starting wage $18.00 hourly.

Responsibilities include supervision, activities planning, homework help, safety, and coordination with the site team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and background check.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain before start date.
• Food Handler’s Permit or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Experience delivering age-appropriate activities and understanding child development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data-based software.
• Strong English reading, writing, speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in growth through educational, social enrichment and recreation.
• Receive/ release students to parents or designee to ensure safety.
• Plan organize and facilitate age-appropriate activities for various settings.
• Communicate with students positively, considering child development stages.
• Provide homework help and promote good study habits.
• Supervise students during free time and academic settings to ensure safety.
• Prepare and maintain food for students per health standards.
• Support site coordinator with projects and record-keeping as needed.
• Administer first aid/CPR when necessary.
• Assist with bus safety and field trips, participate in trainings.
