Job summary

Perelman Jewish Day School in the Philadelphia area is seeking an After School Program Staff for the 2026‑2027 school year. This part‑time, in‑person role runs 3:00 pm–5:30 pm or 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, supporting homework, games, arts and crafts, and supervised activities after regular hours.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children in an informal setting, collaborates with the On‑Site Supervisor, and helps with movement between activities, dismissal, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional or informal experience working with children.
• Knowledge of developmental needs of young children and behavior strategies.
• Ability to manage attendance tasks using technology.
• Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.
• High-energy and enthusiastic about working in a Jewish day school atmosphere.
• First‑aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement after school program activities, including homework support, recess, and arts and crafts.
• Utilize attendance apps to manage attendance, student movement, and dismissal.
• Model positive engagement and effective management to ensure safety and well‑being of students.
• Supervise groups with attention to behavior and group management.
• Perform daily setup/cleanup of materials and keep rooms tidy.
• Meet regularly with the On‑Site Supervisor regarding student management and needs.
• Inform supervisor or Coordinator of any health and safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and faculty.
• Administer emergency medications and activate emergency protocol as needed.
