Job summary

Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center is seeking an After School Counselor to supervise and care for children from Pre-K through Grade 5 in the After School program. This part-time role runs 3:00–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, during the academic year, in person at the DC facility.

You will follow pick-up/dismissal procedures, maintain safety, create engaging activities, and support specialists in lessons while documenting attendance and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Follow pick-up and dismissal procedures at EDCJCC and Ross Elementary School.
• Ensure children in your group are continually supervised, which may include the pool.
• Create age-appropriate activities: free time, quiet room activities, etc.
• Participate energetically in all activities.
• Assist swim, art, science specialists in instructional lessons as needed.
• Take attendance daily and count students while moving between activities.
• Run specialty programs as assigned by the Director.
• Clean the room(s) before leaving and ensure proper use/return of all EDCJCC property, materials, equipment.
