Job summary

St. Raphael Catholic School in Raleigh, NC is seeking a part-time afterschool staff to support students from Kindergarten through Grade 8.

Qualifications

• Education, childcare, recreation, camp programs, or related fields preferred.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church preferred, upholding Catholic education mission.

Responsibilities

• Accept and actively support the mission of Saint Raphael Catholic School as articulated at the diocesan and school level
• Model and integrate virtues and values that support schoolwide core values of reverence, service, and leadership
• Serve as a positive role model for students by fostering a safe, welcoming, and respectful afterschool environment
• Ensure the welfare and safety of students at all times and respond appropriately to student needs and emergencies
• Plan, supervise, and participate in engaging activities such as arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and service projects
• Provide students with a structured environment that supports homework completion when appropriate
• Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining attentiveness and awareness
• Build positive relationships with students while encouraging respectful behavior, responsibility, and good decision-making
• Address minor behavioral concerns with consistency, patience, and professionalism, seeking assistance from the Program Director when appropriate
• Assist the Program Director with daily logistics, including set-up, dismissal procedures, cleaning, and end-of-day organization
• Maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with students, families, faculty, and fellow afterschool staff
• Contribute to a positive Catholic school culture rooted in service, collaboration, and joyful care for children
