Job summary

University of Pennsylvania seeks a Group Leader to deliver high-energy afterschool and enrichment programs for K-12 students in the Netter Center for Community Partnerships. You will implement engaging STEM, arts, and literacy activities, supervise students, and coordinate with Penn students and community partners.

The role requires a high school diploma (a college degree in education or related fields preferred) and at least 3 years of youth programming experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required, College degree preferred in early childhood education, education or social service fields.
• Experience: minimum of 3 years work experience with elementary-aged children and/or high school youth development programming.
• Ability to engage youth in a variety of activities.
• Knowledge of grade-level content, activities and curricula for students.
• Background checks/clearances as required by funder and regulations.
• Experience with urban settings and diverse student populations.
• Able to collaborate on a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Punctual and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Be positive, engaged, and high-energy in activities.

• Use trauma-informed care practices.
• Ensure student safety at all times and reinforce safety precautions.
• Plan and implement enrichment activities with staff and students.
• Attend Netter UACS staff training and meetings.
• Take attendance and manage paperwork.
• Support delivery of academic instruction and curricula.
• Engage with students in indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Assist with setup/cleanup of materials and spaces.
• Supervise students according to program rules.
• Comply with Netter Center and Philadelphia standards.
