Job summary

Kidcreate Studio is seeking an enthusiastic After School Program Instructor to lead art-filled, safety-conscious sessions for elementary students from 3 to 6 pm at multiple Fairfax-area schools. The role is part-time with afternoons; you should enjoy working with children, be energetic and creative, and capable of guiding age-appropriate activities while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead groups of children and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Dependable, patient, energetic, and responsible.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Must meet background-check and child-safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage students during the after-school program.
• Plan and lead educational, recreational, arts and science enrichment activities.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel safe and encouraged.
• Maintain appropriate classroom and behavior-management expectations.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and program staff.
• Monitor student safety and follow all program policies and procedures.
• Prepare and organize materials and activity areas.
• Participate in special events, themed activities, and program projects.
• Complete required attendance, incident, and other program documentation.
