New York Edge in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a passionate After School Program Director to oversee the growth, quality, and success of the assigned program, its students, and staff. This full-time role emphasizes day-to-day operations, contract compliance, and a safe, enriching environment that promotes teamwork, fair play, and youth development.

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education, Psychology, or Social Work.
• At least 18 credit hours from an accredited college/university in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in urban education, youth development or community organizing with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with youth & adolescents in New York City.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage priorities and workflow with a positive demeanor.
• Strong understanding of NYC and NYS education requirements in urban settings.

Responsabilidades

• Oversees program staff, operations, services and implements programs within timeframes and in compliance.
• Conducts staff evaluations and development plans with the Program Manager and HR.
• Provides weekly and monthly team meetings that encourage feedback and discussion on classroom management and lesson planning.
• Coordinates outreach to the community to recruit participants.
• Prepares attendance, daily activities, program content and reports for internal/external use.
• Provides weekly supervision with feedback, goal setting and competency assessment.
