Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a passionate, mission-driven team-builder to fill the After School Program Director role. In this full-time role, you will be accountable for the growth, quality, and success of the assigned after-school program operation, its students, and staff.

The primary responsibility of the Program Director is to manage the day-to-day operations to ensure that New York Edge quality standards and guidelines are met and that the program meets all contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preference in Education, Psychology, or Social Work.
• At least 18 credit hours from an accredited college or university in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field preferred.
• 3 years of experience in urban education, youth development or community organizing; 1 year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees program staff, operations and services to meet timelines and compliance.
• Conducts staff evaluations and development plans with Program Manager and HR.
• Provides weekly and monthly team meetings to encourage feedback and improve classroom management.
