Valley of the Sun YMCA in Phoenix is seeking a Part Time Program Counselor to engage children with arts, crafts, and games, creating positive memories while ensuring safety and fun.

Responsibilities include leading activities after school from 12:30-6:30pm on W, M, T, Th, F; must be 18+, enjoy working with kids, and hold a fingerprint clearance card or ability to obtain.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PROGRAM COUNSELOR:

• Lead children through fun interactive activates such as arts & crafts, gym games and so much more.


• Create positive lasting memories for each child, each day.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A PROGRAM COUNSELOR:

• Minimum age of 18


• Must enjoy working with children


• Current fingerprint clearance card and negative TB or the ability to obtain.

• Flexible schedule availability


• After School: W: 12:30-6:30pm M, T, Th, & Fri: 2:30-6:30pm




• Possess knowledge and desire to work with children.


• Possess mature judgment and sound decision-making.


• Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.


• Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA Child Care Programs.


• Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency
