Job summary

Capitol Language Services (CLS) is hiring for a Program Coordinator with Assistant Coordinators to lead our after-school program at a DC school site. The role oversees daily activities, safety, and parent communication, ensuring CLS policies are followed.

The positions require 1+ year in childcare or program coordination, supervisory experience, strong organization and tech skills, and a DCPS background check. Compensation includes formal trainings and potential extra hours during DCPS closings.

Qualifications

AA degree in education or related required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
At least one year of childcare, education, or program coordination experience.
At least two years in a supervisory position.
Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities.
Proficiency in using tablets and technology for program operations.
Good references from previous employers.
Must be willing to undergo a DCPS background check.

Responsibilities

Represent CLS and communicate our mission, vision, and policies to staff, parents, and students.
Serve as liaison between on-site staff and CLS office team for seamless operations.
Supervise daily program activities and ensure staff have supplies and parents have a contact point.
Maintain accurate rosters and account for all children during program hours.
Address behavioral issues and support teachers in classroom activities.
Report staff misconduct, child safety concerns, or emergencies to CLS office.
