Job summary

South Kitsap School District is seeking a Native American/Alaskan Native Tutor to provide after-school academic support for Native students, focusing on ELA and Math. Tutors will be placed with students in their own building and meet for two hours weekly on predetermined days.

This temporary role is grant-funded for the 2026-2027 school year, with a schedule built by the student and family, and eligibility limited to SKSD employees at this time.

Responsibilities

• Provide extra academic support in ELA, math, and other core subjects.
• Assist students with homework, tests, and projects as recommended by classroom teacher.
• Coordinate and communicate with classroom teachers to find out areas of focus and support instruction.
• Guide and support students in subjects at their grade level.
• Communicate with parents about work completed.
• Regularly update Native American | Alaskan Native Support Specialist with status of tutoring.
