Hours per Day: 1 to 2 not to exceed 8 hours with current position total.

Days per Year: Varies; 1-4 days per week though the school day

SUMMARY:

The role of a Paraeducator Tutor in the Native American | Alaskan Native Education program is to provide after school academic support for interested Native students, specifically in the subjects of ELA and Math. Tutors will be placed with students in their own building and meet with them for two hours per week on days predetermined by the Paraeducator and family.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Provide extra academic support in ELA, math, and other core subjects.

Assist students with homework, preparing for tests, and projects as recommendedby classroom teacher.

Coordinate and communicate with classroom teachers to find out areas of focus and support instruction.

Guide and support students in subjects at their grade level.

Communicate with parents about work completed.

Regularly update Native American | Alaskan Native Support Specialist with status of tutoring.

Model and support a safe and positive learning environment.

Follow all District Board Policies and professional expectations.

Work one-on-one without direct supervision.

Upon completion of tutoring, supervise student until parent or arranged pickup arrives.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
