Job summary

The Salvation Army in Akron, Ohio is seeking a devoted Learning Zone staff member to supervise children daily, support the Lead Teacher, and help plan engaging educational and recreational activities.

You will maintain a safe, welcoming environment, track attendance and progress, liaise with parents, and ensure programs meet Ohio K-12 standards while upholding Salvation Army policies and values.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent is required.
• A Salvation Army background is preferred but not required.
• As deemed necessary by the ODJFS for state licensing purposes.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision and responsibility for children on a daily basis.
• Maintain good working relationships with parents and staff.
• Assist the Lead Teacher with education and recreational programs.
• Attend to the physical needs of the children and prevent accidents.
