Job summary

YMCA is seeking a part-time Learning Teacher for the Y Learning Intervention program in Raleigh, NC. You will lead literacy and math instruction for individuals and small groups after school, following a pre-selected curriculum and assessment cycle.

The role requires a K-6 teaching certification and at least one year of teaching experience, with strong collaboration with parents and school staff to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in an academic setting.
• K-6 elementary teaching certification required.
• Proven ability to lead groups of children and manage classroom behavior.
• Passion for fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in elementary children.
• Ability to collaborate with parents, school staff, and program teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach literacy and math lessons to individuals and small groups.
• Lead instruction on character development and 21st century skills using pre-selected curriculum.
• Administer pre- and post-assessments and report results in a timely manner.
• Maintain communication with the Y Excel Youth Director and classroom teachers for feedback.
• Adhere to program SOPs and participate in trainings/meetings.

Education

K-6 elementary teaching certification
