Job summary

United Community Center in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a part-time Group Leader for the After School Program. The role supports K-8 participants, collaborates with school staff and community partners, and ensures a safe, productive learning environment.

You will monitor activities, lead enrichment projects, and coordinate with volunteers to promote student growth and engagement in a busy after-school setting.

Qualifications

• Computer literacy including internet navigation, MS Office, Google apps, and data systems.
• Knowledge of youth development best practices and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Follows rules, policies, and regulations as outlined in the organization handbook and state/federal guidelines.
• Fulfills written and verbal assignments from supervisor in a timely manner.
• Supervises K-8 participants and high school volunteers during field trips, presentations, and onsite activities.
• Facilitates and leads group enrichment projects, athletics, team building, workshops, and creative games.
• Assigns, reviews, and evaluates participation; recommends discipline, termination, or retention as needed.
• Models exemplary behavior for program participants.
• Promotes life and social skills to participants.
• Facilitates conflict resolution among participants, staff, and partners.
• Promotes and ensures safety of all students and staff.
• Keeps accurate daily attendance records for participants.
• Collaborates with team to plan and execute programs.
• Attends meetings and trainings as required by UCC and funders.
• Fulfills duties delegated by supervisor and others as assigned.
