Job summary

Richland County School District One HOPKINS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Hopkins, South Carolina, is seeking a CRP Lead Teacher for an after-school program. The role is hourly and non-exempt, paying $40.00 per hour, with duties to support academic and personal development of students.

Certified Tutors will work closely with teachers, providing guidance for a minimum of two hours daily, two days a week, focusing on mathematics and writing, and serving as a positive mentor. Must hold SC educator licensure.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid S.C. Educator licensure.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in developing the academic and personal strengths of students.
• Serve as a role model/mentor to students by being a lifelong learner, demonstrating appropriate academic and social behaviors, and wearing appropriate attire at all times.
• Determine from student's notes and discussions, the concepts that need to be taught or retaught.
• Evaluate student binders, including calendars, class and textbook notes, etc.
• Become familiar with the materials in the Libraries.
• Become familiar with the textbooks and materials used by students.
• Conduct tutorial sessions in all areas of mathematics; therefore, a strong math background is mandatory.
• Conduct mini-lessons in the process of writing in all subject areas, study skills, and other aspects of college preparation.
• Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for students to follow.
• Work with students in any phase of the writing process, such as brainstorming, clustering, revision, and editing.
• Communicate frequently and honestly with the coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.
