Job summary

Marin Country Day School’s Homework Cafe program seeks an instructor for 2026-27, providing a safe, welcoming space for students to complete homework and participate in enrichment activities after the school day. You will collaborate with staff to supervise grades 5-8, manage sign-in/out, and assist with front desk duties.

The role emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and a student-centered approach, with shifts 1:30pm–6:00pm, up to 20 hours weekly, during the academic year.

Qualifications

• A.A. or B.A. degree in Education or Child Development is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.
• Experience with elementary/middle school students is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming environment that supports homework time and positive social interaction.
• Supervise students and coordinate with after-school staff; use radios for communication.
• Sign-in/out procedures and front desk assistance for parents and students.
• Prepare and serve snacks following school guidelines.
