Job summary

Marin Country Day School’s Homework Cafe is seeking a part-time After School Support/Homework Cafe staff member to support students in grades 5–8. Work hours are 1:30pm–6:00pm, up to 20 hours per week during the 2026–27 academic year.

Responsibilities include creating a welcoming environment, supervising activities, assisting with sign-in/out, front desk duties, snack service, homework help, and collaboration with the team. Prior education background preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming environment for focused homework time and positive social interaction.
• Supervise students across program areas including outside play and games.
• Help sign-in/sign-out for Homework Cafe.
• Assist front desk: answer phones, greet adults, monitor desk phone.
• Prepare and serve snacks per school guidelines.
• Engage students with games, crafts, and activities.
• Enforce Responsible Use Policy and school handbook.
• Provide homework help, organize assignments and monitor progress.
• Assist with late carpool and safe student dismissal.
• Collaborate with Homework Cafe staff and participate in meetings/trainings.
• Support Fall/Spring conference days.
