Job summary

The Kids Place Gym Teacher at JCC Buffalo plans and leads age-appropriate gym activities for children in grades K–6 as part of the After School Program in Buffalo, NY. The role emphasizes a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that promotes active participation and teamwork.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with occasional weekends, holidays, and evening hours. A high school diploma and ability to supervise children are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with school-aged children in active, recreational, educational, or sports settings preferred.
• Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead a variety of age-appropriate gym games, sports, and physical activities for K–6.
• Create engaging activities that promote participation, teamwork, and physical activity.
• Supervise children at all times in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Effectively manage a group of children in an active gym or recreational setting.
• Adapt games and activities for different ages, skill levels, and interests.
• Provide clear instructions and demonstrate activities and proper use of equipment.
• Follow all JCC policies and procedures, including safety and emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
