Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a part-time School Age Group Leader to support before and after school sites in Olive Branch and surrounding areas. You will implement activities, execute daily lesson plans, and work with site staff to foster children's development across social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth.

You will model YMCA values, help maintain safety and licensing standards, assist with curriculum, and participate in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Passion for YMCA mission.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be 18+ and have a high school diploma.
• Background checks and fingerprint clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of 15–20 children in activities per Site Director instructions.
• Set up and take down program space and keep area organized.
• Follow safety standards and risk management policies to safeguard participants and staff.
• Assist in planning and implementing a quality curriculum per YMCA guidelines.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Monitor supplies and inventory; maintain licensing standards at the site.
• Maintain positive relationships with YMCA staff and school personnel.
• Help uphold citywide policies and procedures; take on duties as directed by Site Director.
