Prosperity Child Development is seeking an Afterschool Group Leader (Part-Time) to supervise school-age children with a focus on safety, structure, and positive leadership. The role requires initiative, adherence to policies, and strong teamwork in a dynamic afterschool environment.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of childcare experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lead activities while ensuring child safety and well-being.
Benefits:
Prosperity Child Development
We are seeking a responsible, dependable, and confident Afterschool Group Leader who is passionate about working with school-age children and understands the importance of safety, structure, teamwork, and leadership. We are looking for individuals who can take initiative, follow program policies, maintain proper supervision, and lead by example at all times.
We are looking for leaders, not just staff members. The ideal candidate understands that working with children requires responsibility, sound judgment, consistency, and initiative. Candidates must be capable of taking direction, making appropriate decisions within their role, holding children accountable to program expectations, and setting a positive example through their own actions.
Applicants must understand that child supervision is a priority and a shared responsibility. Staff are expected to remain attentive, communicate with their team, and never leave children inadequately supervised or leave a coworker struggling to manage a group without appropriate support.
Position Type: Part-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of childcare or youth supervision experience, including informal family childcare experience.
Education Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum Age: 20 years old.
