Job summary

KIPP NYC LLC is seeking an After School Activity Specialist + Group Leader for a part-time, in-person role based in New York City. You will design and facilitate enrichment activities in areas such as dance, visual arts, music, sports, or STEM, while also serving as a Group Leader for a cohort of about 15 students.

The position requires on-site work at one of our campuses (Bronx/ Brooklyn/ Manhattan). You’ll work after school hours with some evening or event responsibilities, and collaborate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or HSE required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience with elementary or middle school-aged children.
• Experience planning and facilitating engaging activities for groups.
• Strong classroom or group management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate enrichment activities in a specialized area.
• Develop lesson plans promoting creativity and leadership.
• Create a joyful, inclusive learning environment where students participate.
• Differentiate activities for diverse abilities and needs.
• Foster positive relationships and mentor students as a role model.
• Serve as Group Leader for approximately 15 students.
• Supervise students during after-school activities and events.
• Promote positive behavior and student engagement while ensuring safety.
• Support students' social-emotional development and well-being.
