Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California is seeking an After School Teacher/Instructor for KIPP Valiant Community Prep in East Palo Alto. The position is part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) and on-site, with duties including homework help, academic support, and enrichment activities after school, Mon-Fri 2:00 PM–6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to pass ParaPro CBEST within 90 days or pass CBEST
• AA degree or BA degree (min 48 units)
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Responsibilities

• Implement after school activities within core program areas (academic, homework, fitness, arts, enrichment)
• Document schedules, lesson plans, curriculum, and youth participation/outcomes
• Use positive behavior and classroom management with children
• Accurately track student attendance daily
• Assist with after school program registration, customer service, and outreach
• Maintain health and safety standards for students and staff
• Participate in setup, activity execution, and cleanup
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and partners
