Job summary

Friendship Public Charter School in Washington, DC is seeking an after-school care assistant for the Extended Day program. The role runs from 3pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday, and pays $20.00 per hour.

A high school diploma or GED is required to be considered. You will work under the supervision of a Group Leader to maintain a positive classroom environment, assist with the Friendship Cares curricula, manage attendance, and support safety and dismissal procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and meet licensing requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of supervised experience working with school-age children.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Group Leader in maintaining a positive classroom environment.
• Facilitate the Friendship Cares curricula and enrichment activities.
• Complete daily attendance accurately and on time.
• Maintain a neat and organized classroom.
• Ensure safety during activities and supervise all children.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
• Support dismissal procedures and greet parents and children.
• Promote good personal hygiene habits.
• Report incidents promptly to the Extended Day Site Coordinator.
