Job summary

Right At School is hiring an after-school educator in California to deliver engaging curriculum, supervise activities, and support students after school within a safe, supportive environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six ECE units, and current CPR/First Aid certification. Training is provided; state-required screenings apply. Typical shift 1:45pm–6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High-quality customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• 1+ year of experience with children under 13 preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Completion of at least six units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Commitment to safe, healthy living and positive guidance.
• Must meet state-specific requirements (LIVE Scan, mandated reporter training, health cert, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials and attendance records for lessons and activities.
• Deliver daily curriculum to engage children and reinforce learning.
• Model positive guidance and classroom management to ensure safety and focus.
• Communicate clearly with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager for progress and accountability.
