Job summary

Bank Street College of Education is seeking an after-school teacher for an engaging program in New York City. You will develop a curriculum and plan daily activities, promoting exploration, creativity, and development while ensuring safety and well-being of children after school hours.

You will collaborate with staff and interact with parents to create a supportive, fun learning environment. The position is part-time (up to 14 hours/week) with a focus on teamwork and child-centered learning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience working with preschool children in a child care setting and managing a classroom preferred.
• Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team, as well as develop skills in working with individual children, small groups, and the whole class.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive curriculum and plan daily activities.
• Interact with parents and other staff to create a safe, fun learning environment for children.
• Ensure health, safety and well-being of children with close supervision during activities.
• Promote exploration, creativity and discovery and stimulate each child's development.
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment and prepare materials as needed.
