Job summary

On N On Community Child Care in Springfield, MA is seeking an experienced Educator (Group Leader) for our after-school program. You will supervise, support academic, social, and emotional development while leading engaging activities.

The role requires at least two years of relevant experience with school-age children, MA EEC Group Leader qualifications, and successful completion of background checks and training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of verified experience working with school-age children.
• Must meet applicable Massachusetts EEC Group Leader qualification requirements.
• Must provide a completed Verification of School Age Work Experience form, as applicable.
• Must successfully complete all applicable background checks, including the Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC).
• Must complete required EEC training and orientation.
• First Aid and CPR certification required or obtained within the applicable timeframe.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan and lead engaging activities for school-age children.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, and coworkers.
• Must be dependable, punctual, patient, and committed to child safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, attendance, and daily routines.
• Supervise students during indoor, outdoor, and school vacation activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe classrooms and activity areas.
• Communicate student needs, incidents, and concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Collaborate with other educators to ensure consistent classroom practices.
• Follow Massachusetts EEC regulations and company policies.

What You'll Do

Optional 7D Certification Opportunity

A Massachusetts 7D School Pupil Transport Certificate is NOT required to apply for this position.

Employees who obtain a valid Massachusetts 7D certificate may be considered for an additional $1.00 per hour, subject to HR verification and Management approval.

Any student transportation duties may be assigned only after the employee obtains the required certification and receives company authorization.

Schedule

• Part-time, Monday–Friday, primarily after-school hours.
• Specific working hours will be determined based on program schedules and staffing needs.
• Additional hours may be available during school vacations and summer programs.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $18.00 per hour, based on verified experience and qualifications.

• Potential $1.00/hour adjustment upon obtaining 7D certification, subject to approval.
