Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is seeking reliable individuals to train as 7D Van Drivers for after-school transportation in Worcester, MA. This part-time role offers 10 hours per week (1:30-4pm) with potential additional hours during school vacations and summer.

Ideal candidates are safety‑minded, able to pass background checks, and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification. Training will be provided to ensure a positive transport experience for Club members aged 5–13.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid MA driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving record.
• Experience transporting children (5–13) preferred.
• Ability to pass CORI, MVR and fingerprint checks.
• Familiar with child safety requirements and seat belt use.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport Club members after school between centers, schools or community locations in Worcester.
• Ensure passengers are secured in the vehicle following child safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with supervisor regarding daily schedule and routes.
• Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
• Maintain a clean and organized van and report maintenance needs.
• Complete all required paperwork daily.
• Participate in trainings annually.

Part-time 7D School Van Drivers - WILL TRAIN

LOCATION: School Age Childcare Program

REPORTS TO: Director of School Age Childcare

HOURS OF WORK: Part-time; 10 hours per week (1:30-4pm) during school year. Hours may be available during school vacation weeks and summer.

We are seeking reliable and responsible people who are willing to train to be 7D Van Drivers and join our team. The ideal candidates will be committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our Club members while providing a positive transportation experience.

We recognize thirteen holidays annually and our centers are closed. Additionally, if the holiday falls on a weekend day, we will be closed the Friday or Monday closest to the holiday.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid MA driver’s license with a continuous three year clean driving record.
• Prior experience transporting children, ages 5 - 13 (preferred).
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle records check.
• Familiar with child safety requirements and proper use of safety belts.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport Club members after school between centers, schools or community locations after school in Worcester.
• Ensure passengers are secured safely in the vehicle following child safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with supervisor regarding daily schedule and routes.
• Ensure timely pick-ups and drops offs.
• Maintain a clean and organized van and report any maintenance needs immediately.
• Complete all required paperwork daily.
• Participate in state or Club required trainings on at least an annual basis.

Position contingent on passing a criminal offender record information check (CORI), national background check and an EEC fingerprint background check.
