Job summary

MW_CSD is seeking a Youth Service Educational Aide for Colin Powell Academy in Fort Washington, MD. This part-time role supports teachers with activities, homework help, and monitoring students during snack and learning time, fostering a positive and safe environment.

You will assist with small group lessons across core subjects, help implement career exploration activities, communicate progress to parents, participate in staff meetings and PD, and help maintain attendance and materials in the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• Experience with children or in an educational setting desirable.
• Ability to support math, science, English and other core subjects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and ability to motivate students.
• Strong organizational skills and teamwork.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with activities and supervise during snack time.
• Lead small group sessions across subjects and career exploration.
• Collaborate to create engaging educational activities and schedule.
• Communicate student progress to parents in writing or verbally.
• Attend meetings and assist with attendance records and materials.
• Ensure a safe, positive learning environment for students.
• Maintain schedule and document in the Efforts To Outcomes (ETO) system.
