YOUTH BUS DRIVER / AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM SUPPORT

Beyond The Classroom (BTC) – South Pasadena, CA
Part-Time | Monday–Friday | Approximately 13.75 Hours/Week

Beyond The Classroom (BTC) is a child-centered after-school enrichment program serving elementary-aged children in South Pasadena. Our mission is to provide children with a safe, nurturing “home away from home” where they can play, create, build friendships, and continue learning beyond the school day.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious driver to join our after-school team.

The primary responsibility of this position is to safely pick up children from local schools and transport them to BTC in one of our passenger vans.

Because the driving routes do not take up the entire shift, the driver will also help with light operational tasks such as keeping the vans clean, picking up snacks or supplies, light laundry, and other basic program-support duties.

Schedule

Monday: 12:30–3:30 PM — 3 hours
Tuesday: 1:00–3:30 PM — 2.5 hours
Wednesday: 1:30–4:15 PM — 2.75 hours
Thursday: 1:30–3:30 PM — 2 hours
Friday: 12:00–3:30 PM — 3.5 hours

Approximately 13.75 hours per week

Applicants should be available for the full Monday–Friday schedule, as consistent and reliable school pick-up coverage is essential to this position.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS:

• An experienced, safe, and responsible driver
• Dependable and punctual — reliability is extremely important
• Comfortable driving a passenger van
• Patient and comfortable interacting with children
• Willing to help with light cleaning, errands, and other tasks between driving responsibilities
• Professional, communicative, and trustworthy
• Able to work independently and follow established safety procedures

Experience transporting children or working in a school, camp, childcare, or youth program is a plus.

Because BTC is a licensed childcare center, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable licensing, background-clearance, and driving requirements.
