Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• New York State Teaching Certification preferred.
• Experience supervising staff, training, and curriculum development.
• Experience in after-school or community programs.
• Strong knowledge of NYC DOE Learning Standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between after-school staff and school-day staff to ensure curriculum alignment.
• Collaborate with the Program Director to develop and select curricula for developmental needs.
• Identify instructional themes aligned with school curriculum with the Program Director.
• Design, plan, and facilitate staff training and professional development sessions.
• Research, develop, and coordinate age-appropriate, standards-based curricula to support activities.
• Lead staff development sessions for Group Leaders and Activity Specialists to ensure understanding of content.
• Provide ongoing instructional support to staff by sharing best practices and resources.
• Conduct regular observations and use assessment results to inform professional development planning.
• Partner with school administration to identify and implement assessment methods to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Promote student growth in literacy and numeracy, while fostering STEM interest.
• Support program staff through observations, coaching, training, and development.
• Ensure compliance with DYCD professional development requirements and related training hours.
• Maintain flexibility for mandatory trainings outside standard schedules.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
