Job summary

The Packer Collegiate Institute is seeking an energetic, kind, student-centered After School Common Area Supervisor to work in the Packer+ afterschool program. The role involves active supervision of students in common areas from 3-6 pm on school days, ensuring safety and directing students to supervised areas.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with K-12 students. This is an on-site, after-school opportunity within a diverse and inclusive school community

  • Communicate with supervisors and security to address issues.
  • Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  • Report injuries, accidents, and illnesses promptly.
  • Participate in fire safety drills.
  • Provide additional support as needed.

Job description

The Packer Collegiate Institute is seeking an energetic, kind, student-centered After School Common Area Supervisor to work in the Packer+ afterschool program.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain an active presence in the common areas of the school, including the outdoor Garden, from 3-6 pm each day that classes are in session;
  • Ensure the health and safety of each student;
  • Direct all students to a supervised area of the school;
  • Maintain discipline and report any problems in a timely fashion;
  • Communicate with supervisors and the front security desk to address any issues that arise;
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, and illnesses as soon as possible;
  • Participate in and maintain order during periodic fire safety drills;
  • Provide additional support as needed.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience working with students in grades K-12.
