Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking in Escondido is seeking enthusiastic part-time Cooking Teachers to deliver hands-on classes for kids ages 5-14 on Thursdays. Lead engaging, globally inspired recipes, emphasize safety and teamwork, and bring energy to the kitchen.

You'll work 12-4 PM, 9-12 week sessions, with supportive team, provided curricula, and flexible scheduling. Competitive pay at $33.33/hour plus reimbursements, and opportunities for year-round work based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or coaching kids of various ages.
• Available to teach Thursdays from 12-4 PM.
• Commitment to 9-12 week sessions.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification desirable or willing to obtain.
• Reliable transportation and ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Pass state and FBI background checks as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on cooking classes, teaching chopping, mixing, measuring, and healthy recipes.
• Spark creativity by introducing new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures.
• Stay organized with provided curricula, shop for ingredients, and set up safe kitchens.
• Communicate with Admin Team to ensure students are accounted for.
• Be the face of fun, inspiring kids to gain kitchen confidence.

What You'll Do

• Lead Hands-On Cooking Classes: Teach kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy, exciting recipes from around the world.
• Spark Creativity: Introduce kids to new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
• Stay Organized: Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up fun, safe kitchen environments.
• Communicate via text and phone calls with the Admin Team to ensure students are accounted for, etc.
• Be the Face of Fun: Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.

Who You Are

• Experienced teaching or coaching kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Available to teach Thursdays from 12-4 PM
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8-12 kids. Must arrive on campus 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Varies per school.
• Able to commit to teaching sessions that run 9-12 weeks.
• Have or willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Lift up to 30 lbs to store and transport materials.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation.
• Must pass state and FBI background checks as a condition of employment.

What We Offer

• Competitive Pay ($33.33 per-hour + food reimbursement + grocery shopping time per class + cell phone/internet reimbursement each month).
• $20.00/hour grocery shopping time
• $17.75/hour for trainings and staff meetings

• $5 Cellphone/internet reimbursement (monthly)
• $14 reimbursement per class for groceries purchased
• Sick leave at the rate of 1 hour per 30 worked
• Ongoing Support.
• All tools and equipment provided, this includes our special Chef tool kit valued at $175

A Day in the Life

As a Sticky Fingers Cooking® instructor, you'll travel to different schools in your area to bring "the kitchen" to kids. Using our tried-and-true recipes, you'll teach them essential cooking skills, food safety, and the history and culture behind each dish-all while fostering creativity and confidence. From slicing and dicing to learning about global cuisines, kids will have a blast in your classes, and so will you!
