Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in San Jose, CA.

You will lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students, using our structured curriculum to teach fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship. Flexibility is key: teach 1–5 classes per week on weekday afternoons, with mileage reimbursement for travel between local school sites.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or coaching groups of children.
• Ability to lead a class independently with an engaging style.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and simple tactics.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) for 1–5 classes/week.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
