Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Gilroy, CA. Teach 1–5 afternoon classes per week using our structured curriculum, engaging 10–15 elementary students with fun, interactive chess activities.

Compensation is competitive, $65–$80 per class, with mileage reimbursement for travel over 15 miles one way. Flexible hours and full training provided; relocation not required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor and strong punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use our structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
