Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. in Marietta, GA is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead after-school chess classes for elementary students. You will use a structured curriculum, engage 10–15 kids per session, and create a fun, safe learning environment.

Teach 1–5 classes weekly in the afternoons, receive competitive pay per class, mileage reimbursement, and full training with curriculum and materials provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar)
• Comfort leading a class independently and creating interactive, friendly, and fun sessions
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; ability to explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics to kids
• Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life problem-solving
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes per week
• Commitment to school safety protocols and strong reliability and time adherence
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students
• Use a structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and sportsmanship
• Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking
• Follow school safety protocols during arrivals, dismissals, and activities
• Travel to various local school sites for each session
