Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in University Park, MD. Lead fun, interactive chess classes for elementary students using our structured curriculum, with sessions scheduled in the fall.

You will travel between local schools, teach 1–5 classes per week in the 2:00–5:00 pm window, and receive mileage reimbursement for long trips. Competitive pay per class and full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently with engaging, kid-friendly sessions.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use the structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving and critical thinking through games and activities.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive prepared and ready to engage students.
