Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. in Arlington, MA seeks enthusiastic instructors for its after-school chess program. Teach 1–5 classes weekly at local schools, with sessions typically 2:00 PM–5:00 PM on weekdays. Earn $50–$70 per class plus mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles.

Lead 10–15 student classes using our structured curriculum, promote sportsmanship, and maintain a positive, safe classroom. Arrive prepared and on time, and travel between schools as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, friendly sessions.
• Positive, kid-friendly demeanor and reliability.
• Strong understanding of chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves clearly and age-appropriately.
• Reliable transportation to travel between locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10-15 students.
